nEUROn Demonstrator Continues 4th Test Campaign

The nEUROn combat drone demonstrator started its 4th ” Low Observability ” test campaign in November. This campaign is conducted by the Directorate General of Armament (DGA) with the support of Dassault Aviation. It was carried out in Istres by the teams of DGA Flight Tests and consists of a series of confrontations with different operational means of detection; it will continue in early 2019. How to Dig a Hole with Two Drones and a Parachute

The NIMBUS Lab at the University of Nebraska has been developing drones that have the unique ability to dig holes in the ground and then fill those holes with sensors. If this sounds like a complicated task, that’s because it is: The drone needs to be able to carry a portable digging system a useful distance, locate a diggable spot, land, verify that the spot it thought was diggable is in fact diggable, dig a hole and install the sensor, and then fly off again. Bell Unveils Nexus Air Taxi at CES

Bell Helicopter revealed the configuration and full-scale vertical-takeoff-and-landing (VTOL) air taxi vehicle on January 7th during CES 2019. The air taxi, named Bell Nexus, is powered by a hybrid-electric propulsion system and features Bell’s signature powered lift concept incorporating six tilting ducted fans that are designed to safely and efficiently redefine air travel.
