Japan Aerospace Exploratory Agency and Yamato Team on Cargo Pod for eVTOL Aerial System
Japan Aerospace Exploratory Agency (JAXA), and Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. announced their collaboration on cargo pod for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aerial system. The two organizations have worked together in designing and evaluating the aerodynamic shape of the PUPA 8801 heavy-size eVTOL cargo pod concept.
UK Launches Inquiry into Civil Use of Drones
The UK’s House of Lords is holding an enquiry into the civil use of drones, to determine whether the conditions are right “for the industry to take off”. In a call for submissions, aimed at gathering expert written and oral evidence as a precursor to its final report in March 2015, the Lords’ EU subcommittee on the internal market, infrastructure and employment said that the increased use of drones throws up “a multitude of questions”.

New Zealand Hires DJI Phantom to Take ‘Dronies’ on Ski Slopes

New Zealand’s tourism authority is now planning to cash in on the trend, buying a $1400 DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ drone to tour the country’s ski slopes, as well as Queenstown and Lake Tekapo, to capture tourist dronies.
