Silent Falcon UAS Technologies has unveiled a fully integrated photogrammetric sensor package that flies aboard the solar-electric powered Silent FalconTM Unmanned Aircraft System. Incorporating the custom Falcon XCAM-A camera system, Pix4D processing software and LizardTech compression technology, the Silent Falcon photogrammetric package is designed to collect mapping-quality image data on long-endurance, extended-range UAS missions.
Russian UCAV in Near Miss Near Moscow
The Russian unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) programme revealed as long ago as 2007 might have reached the flight-test phase. The evidence comes from a near midair over Arkhangelskoye on February 17, reported by the pilots of two L-29 jet trainers belonging to a civilian flying club based at the Barataevka airfield near Ulyanovsk. The L-29 pilots rapidly altered heading and altitude to escape collision with an unidentified flying object that they described as “a heavyweight unmanned air vehicle.”

UAS Deliver Coke to Workers Building Singapore Skyscrapers
A few weeks back, drones buzzed up to high-rises under construction in Singapore and dropped off cans of Coke to the migrant workers building the towers. Tucked into the care packages were 2,734 messages from Singaporeans thanking the tradesmen for their hard work. The idea was to link two communities that don’t often come into contact – Singaporean nationals and the migrant workers who travel far from their countries to build the city-state’s apartment buildings, offices and schools.
