DJI’s Flying Test Bed with Collision Avoidance System

dji-developer-quad-2015-06-08-01DJI has just made its UAV platform a lot more developer-friendly with a new test drone and collision avoidance system, along with an SDK for its current DJI Inspire 1 and Phantom 3 models. The Matrice 100 (M100) is a new quadcopter made specifically for developers to help them test new sensors, processors and other tech.

European RPAS Workshop on Technical, Regulatory Issues

Eurocontrol 5-rpas-workshop-imgAs interest in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles rises rapidly in Europe, Mike Lissone, RPAS ATM integration programme manager for Eurocontrol, noted that attendees and presenters at the workshop looked to focus on technical and regulatory issues, such as sense and avoid, that need to be tackled just as rapidly. Lissone told Avionics Magazine that he likes to draw attention to some of the elements of future RPAS integration that will “come around the corner to haunt us.”
