GENIUS NY Announces Sixteen Semi-Finalists

GENIUS NY, a business accelerator program at CenterState CEO’s Tech Garden, announced sixteen teams are semi-finalists in the competition’s second round. The companies, which are developing innovations in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry, were selected from a highly-competitive pool of more than 250 submissions to compete for $3 million in investments.

DJI Security Seriously Discredited

Two documents which have come to light recently throw severe doubts on both DJI’s ability and willingness to install security measures in its products. In the first, Kevin Finisterre, a researcher, found that DJI left the private key for its dot-com’s HTTPS certificate exposed on GitHub for up to four years. In the second, a White Paper by Department 13 entitled ‘Anatomy of DJI Drone Identification Implementation’, it emerges that some of DJI’s approaches have clear security issues with no apparent remediation. PAE ISR’s Resolute Eagle Completes First Commercial Airspace Flight

PAE ISR recently proved its ability to integrate unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations into commercial airspace. The successful commercial airspace flight of PAE ISR’s Resolute Eagle took place on Nov. 8 at the Pan-Pacific UAS Test Range located at Pendleton Airport in Oregon operating under a Federal Aviation Administration Certificate of Waiver or Authorization.  Continue reading
