DARPA Awards LiquidPiston $2.5M for Rotary Diesel Engine Development

The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded LiquidPiston Inc., an advanced internal combustion engine technology company, an additional $2.5 million to continue development of its 30kW X4 rotary diesel engine prototype, bringing DARPA’s total funding of the engine technology to $6M.  General Atomics and Pratt & Whitney Team Successful MQ-25 Engine Test

The Pratt & Whitney (P&W) PW815 engine was selected by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) to power their proposed solution for the U.S. Navy’s MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aerial refuelling aircraft. On April 5th, the GA-ASI/P&W team completed its first powered run of the PW815 with the GA-ASI MQ-25A inlet and exhaust configuration. Continue reading

3W-Intl. Signs Distribution Agreement for Turkey

On the sidelines of the Xponential 2018 in Denver, the German engine manufacturer signed a distribution agreement with IHATEK Ltd. Effective from June 1st, IHATEK Ltd. will market and distribute the products of 3W-International GmbH, as well as those of Sky Power GmbH, in Turkey. Continue reading
