Australian metal AM company Titomic reports that it has 3D printed the largest titanium unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The drone, which measures over 1.8 meters in diameter, was manufactured using the company’s rapid Titomic Kinetic Fusion technology—specifically its large-format TKF 9000, which itself spans 9 x 3 x 1.5 meters. A partnership of Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV), Collins Aerospace, and the University of Nottingham (UoN) has won grant funding in excess of £1m from the UK Aerospace Research and Technology Programme to develop electric propulsion technologies using Airlander 10 as the initial platform.
