L-3 Link Awarded Predator/Reaper Simulation Contract
L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link) announced that it has been awarded a contract by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) to supply eight appended Blue Box HD (BBHD) Block 30 Training Support Equipment units for integration on operational Predator and Reaper Ground Control Stations (GCS).
Long-Range UAV for Belarusian Emergencies Ministry
In 2015 the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry will get an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with the operational range of up to 290km. The information was released by Yuri Yatsyna, head of the R&D centre for UAV technologies of the Physics Technology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, at the press conference held on 10 February to discuss innovative technologies for unmanned aerial vehicles.

Phantom Safety Upgrade Rolled Back after ‘Flight Behaviour’ Issues
DJI recently an update that added some new safety features, including GPS geofencing that stops the drone flying about near sensitive places: like the White House. However, it has paused the roll-out of the update after a few reports that “unanticipated flight behaviour after updating” to Phantom firmware v3.10.
