A LAM Linhas Aereas de Mocambique Boeing 737-700, registration C9-BAQ performing flight TM-136 from Maputo to Tete (Mozambique) with 80 passengers and 6 crew, was on approach to Tete’s runway 19 at about 4000 feet when the crew heard a loud bang, no abnormal indications followed. At its second meeting on January 31, 2017 in Reno, NV, the Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) will continue to help the Federal Aviation Administration prioritize its efforts to integrate unmanned aircraft systems – or drones – into the national airspace. FAA Administrator Michael Huerta announced the creation of the DAC as a federal advisory committee in May 2016, and the DAC first met in September 2016. Continue reading

Drone Delivery Canada has announced that it has formalized an agreement to expand its testing from the Waterloo region to now include a second province, namely, Foremost Alberta – Canada’s first Transport Canada approved drone UAV test range. In Foremost, AB , DDC will be focusing on Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) capabilities in an effort to move towards commercialization in late 2017/early 2018. Continue reading
