The Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA), with support from the National Geographic and Forest Information Institute (IGN) has developed an interactive map of zones of restrictions and prohibitions for use recreational of drones in metropolitan France.

Available online at the Geoportal , this interactive map brings together, in a simplified and easily understandable manner, areas of the territory Metropolitan where drone flights are subject to prohibitions or restrictions permanently.

Thus, it is now easy and fast for a leisure unmanned see if it can fly its drone in one place, and to what height . This tool information will include avoiding reckless and dangerous flights in sensitive areas or the vicinity of aerodromes.

In the coming months , this tool will be supplemented by overseas cards. The integration of temporary restricted areas is also under consideration.

To support the development of civil drone, France was one of the first countries to adopt, by 2012, of a regulation. This was complemented by the law on the enhancement of the safety of the use of civilian drones, adopted by Parliament on 13 October. Today, the DGAC and the IGN make available to the leisure telepilots an online information tool that will allow them to use their drone safely.
