The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has just posted a large database showing the city, state and zip code of each registered drone owner. Release of the database responds to a number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests submitted since the new unmanned aircraft registration system began operating on December 21, 2015. With the proliferation of consumer UAS, the threat of collisions between drones and manned aircraft is a growing concern, particularly to operators of rotorcraft, which tend to fly at lower altitudes than fixed-wing aircraft. Dedrone, developer of civilian drone detection system, announced that it has raised $10 million in Series A funding. The round was led by U.S.-investor Menlo Ventures, one of the world’s premier venture capital firms investing in consumer and enterprise technologies.
