China: Xiamen Test Flies UAS in Tong’an, Builds Research Centre

Xiamen Milestone Group has become the first enterprise in Fujian to design and make a successful trial flight of an unmanned aircraft. The trial flight was carried out on Jan 4th, 2011 and the company plans to market the aircraft in May this year.

As a national key high-tech enterprise group, Xiamen Milestone Group has made substantial progress as a supplier to Boeing, Airbus, and Bombardier Inc..

On Jan 11th, the foundation-laying ceremony of Xiamen Milestone Aviation Technology Development Base was held in Tong’an Industrial District, Xiamen, Fujian. The Base covers a total area of 27,337 square meters. Construction started with an initial investment of RMB250 million and completion is expected in ten months. The base will focus on the research, production and sales of flight control system, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), on-board power supply and other aviation mechanical and electrical products.

Established in 1999, Xiamen Milestone Group is a professional manufacturer and has a self-owned R&D centre specialised in the development and production of various electronic and electric connectors.
