New UAS Training Course Focuses on Civilian Market

Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, is holding the first civilian Unmanned Aircraft training class in the region beginning July 19 at its main campus and Tech Town in downtown. The college is hoping to prepare the area’s workforce for forthcoming jobs as a result of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s involvement with the evolving technology.

Pentagon Admits Major Data Breach in Recent Cyber-Attack

The Pentagon admitted that a defence contractor had suffered a major data breach in March in a speech announcing a cyber-strategy plan emphasizing defensive tactics. The intruders were after files related to missile tracking systems, unmanned aircraft sytems and the Joint Strike Fighter.

Pentagon Report Highlights Flaws in Fire Scout

Australian Defence Force Gets Two Complete Shadow Systems

Afghan-Based Australian soldiers will get enhanced protection from a new $170 million US-designed unmanned aircraft system within months, Defence Materiel Minister Jason Clare confirmed last week. The catapult-launched Shadow 200 is a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle that will provide day and night surveillance.
