Drone World Expo in San Jose got off to a cracking start on Wednesday with a fully-packed room of attendees who turned up at 9 am for the Keynote: ‘Avoiding the Traffic Jam: A Government and Industry UTM Update’. The high-powered panel featured David Famolari, Verizon Ventures; Marke “Hoot” Gibson, FAA; Parimal “PK” Kopardekar, NASA and Dr. Dave Vos, Google X, and Gretchen West, Hogan Lovells, moderated the discussion.
DJI Unveils Dynamic Geofencing at Drone World Expo
Leading small drone manufacturer DJI will introduce a dynamic “geofencing” system for its aircraft that continuously updates the airspace conditions where they are flown. The system will provide drone operators with live information on areas subject to temporary flight restrictions and on locations such as prisons and power plants that are considered sensitive for security reasons.
DreamHammer DroneOS for Enterprise Drones
At Drone World Expo, DreamHammer announced the release of a drone operating system, DroneOS, to include industrial-grade avionics and operator ground control system. DroneOS is now available in beta release to a limited number of key customers with a full release planned for 2016 to DreamHammer’s enterprise-customer pipeline. Continue reading
