A Japanese drone services start-up has chosen Queensland for its regional office after being inspired by the Palaszczuk Government’s drive to advance innovation and entrepreneurship across the state. Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Jackie Trad said Terra Drone, a Japanese unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) provider, made the decision to come to Brisbane as a result of the Premier’s trade mission to Japan in November 2016. California-based Aerial MOB, which supplies drone services for film and TV production, has signed an exclusive deal with William F. White International to see its flying cameras rented out in Canada. The deal with Toronto-based Whites, Canada’s largest production equipment supplier, will have Aerial MOB’s small, unmanned aircrafts systems, or drones, crossing the border to provide higher vistas and tighter shots on Hollywood movie and TV shoots.
