USAF Pays $15.6 Million for Anti-Drone Systems
The US Air Force awarded a $15.6 million contract to ELTA North America Inc., to deliver 21 “counter-unmanned aerial systems,” according to a Feb. 21 Pentagon announcement. The devices, which the announcement also calls “Man Portable Aerial Defense System kits,” will be produced in Israel and delivered to the continental US for training by the end of July. Satellite Spots New Russian Reconnaissance Drone
The image of the drone was spotted earlier this week on the Terraserver website specializing in aerial and satellite imagery. The picture was taken at the Gromov Flight Research Institute’s taxi lane in the Moscow region. The organization is an important Russian aircraft test base and scientific research center in the city of Zhukovsky.
