The Aerodrome and its partner, the City of Boulder City, NV, announced today the world’s first commercial droneport and teaching facility in Boulder City, NV. A droneport is a facility tailored specifically to Unmanned Air Systems (UAS). Unlike other planned droneport projects previously announced, The Aerodrome’s Eldorado Droneport has already broken ground, is fully funded, permanent and currently operational. This history-making project by Aerodrome and the City of Boulder City has the full support and approval of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The official opening of the “Deutsches Erprobungsgeländes für Unbemanntes Fliegen (DEU) / German Testsite for Unmanned Flying”, in Mattsies, Bavaria, Germany took place on Friday, September, 11th. The test site, which is the Airfield of Grob Aircraft, is for research & development of civil UAS. The test site can activate restricted airspace for flight operations with UAS. Boeing will conduct Denmark’s first-ever beyond visual line of sight unmanned airborne system (UAS) flights under civilian authority in May, another aspect of a partnership with Hans Christian Andersen Airport designed to help Denmark become an unmanned aerial systems leader.
Government May Oppose Newquay Airport Test Site

UAS R&D Project Wins Environmental Approval in Spain
Spanish regulators gave initial approval to build a research and development center for unmanned aircraft in state-owned forest land. The project, sponsored by the Defense Ministry’s National Institute for Aerospace Technology, won environmental clearance and will advance toward final approvals, according to a decision published last week by the Spanish government. The International Consortium of Aeronautical Test Sites (ICATS) welcomed CATUAVTech Center (CTC) in Barcelona as its fifth member here at the Farnborough International Airshow yesterday, adding Spain to the list of countries involved in the partnership.
