Northrop Grumman has announced that it has been awarded a $25.6 million contract to develop a UAS sense and avoid capability for BAMS in support of the Navy and U.S. Air Force. The work will be carried out by the Aerospace sector’s Battle Management & Engagement Systems Division.

Lockheed Martin has awarded a contract to ATK to provide the Thermal Control Subsystem for the Integrated Sensor is Structure (ISIS) programme, an integral part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) ISIS Airship. Lockheed Martin leads an industry team in the development of an airship-based autonomous unmanned sensor with unique capabilities to track ground and air targets.
Hughes and Tachyon Team to Develop Advanced Airborne Networking Solutions
Tachyon Networks, developer of aXiom end-to-end satellite solutions for fixed, portable and comms-on-the-move (COTM) applications and Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, today announced their intention to cooperate in the development of end-to-end airborne COTM solutions for military and government markets. This broad-based cooperation will focus on solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft, initially fixed-wing and later rotary wing aircraft, which require full-motion HD video transmission capabilities.
