Grand Forks Golf Course Pioneers Food Delivery by UAS

Golfers at the pristine King’s Walk golf course in Grand Forks will soon have the choice of ordering food and beverages and having it delivered via drone on the golf course. Flytrex, an Israeli drone logistics company, announced a partnership Wednesday, Sept. 5, with King’s Walk and Ease Drones to begin a four-to-six-week trial of the food delivery system, which is anticipated to debut Saturday, September 15.

Autel Seeks Ban on DJI Products in USA

Autel EVO

China-based DJI is accused of using Autel’s patented features for following a flight path while avoiding obstacles, rotor assembly, and a way to switch out battery packs to minimize lag time between flights. Autel wants the U.S. International Trade Commission to ban imports of models of DJI’s Phantom, Mavic, Spark and Inspire drones made in China by DJI, according to a complaint filed in Washington. FAA Grants Nearly 2,000 Waivers to Operate Beyond Part 107

On the eve of the two-year anniversary of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) establishing regulations for operating small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), also known as drones, the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) has released an update to its analysis of waivers by the FAA for UAS operations beyond the scope of the Small UAS Rule and found that nearly 2,000 have been granted.
