During a meeting held last Thursday in Rome, the Italian Defence Ministry confirmed its commitments on multiple orders to Piaggio Aerospace for a total amount of approximately 700 million euros. Taking part in the meeting were representatives of the Italian Government, Piaggio Aerospace’s Extraordinary Receiver, local authorities from the Liguria region and the Piaggio Aerospace Unions. The Russian government has accepted its first two MiG-35 aircraft, the latest multirole fighter made by MiG Russian Aircraft Corporation that straddles fourth-and-fifth generation capability, according to a company spokesperson. But beyond supplying new MiGs to the Russian air force, MiG is currently designing and developing drones to pair up with the new combat-capable aircraft, said spokeswoman Anastasia Kravchenko. Terra Drone Europe, a group company of Japan-based Terra Drone Corporation, has successfully completed a high-resolution photogrammetric pavement assessment using a multirotor drone at Djibouti’s key port of Doraleh. The 5-day aerial survey was accompanied by detailed inspections of the quay walls and the sea defense revetments at the Doraleh harbor. Continue reading
