The Green X Robird will be demonstrated during the upcoming European Commission UAS Panel Workshop at Eurocontrol in Brussels, Belgium on 13-14 September 2011. Robirds have been developed to closely resemble birds of prey and precisely imitate their flight profile, and thereby be an effective tool to decrease the risks of bird strike for aviation.

Hackers Target Vanguard and InfraGard
The hacker group AntiSec has released a 1GB cache of stolen documents from two organizations with ties to US law-enforcement agencies. Vanguard Defense Industries manufactures the ShadowHawk for law enforcement and security in the private sector, while InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI, businesses, academic institutions, and law-enforcement agencies.

10 Hour Flight for Hydrogen Powered Fuel Cell UAS
Robota LLC demonstrated a 10 hour and 4 minute flight of its unmanned aircraft platform named Robosoar. The UAS is designed to be man-portable, operated by a single person and is capable of autonomous takeoff and landing.

International Aerial Robotics Competition
This video describes the 6th Mission of the International Aerial Robotics Competition which began in 2010. The 6th Mission involves the use of micro air vehicles ( MAV ) to find and steal a zip drive containing sensitive information, and replace it with an identical drive before leaving the building undetected. All of this must be done fully autonomously. A $20,000 prize will be awarded during 2011 if any team can demonstrate this aerial robotic behaviour in under 10 minutes.
New Apache Controls Unmanned Aircraft
The first production prototype of the modernized Apache landed at the US Army’s Redstone Arsenal Test Center and was put it through its paces to the delight of a media and contractor audience. The Apache Block III will feature Future Modular Force connectivity through seamless global information grid communications, Level IV Unmanned Aircraft System control, which means the Apache pilot will have control of the flight path and weapons systems on a UAV.
Boeing Testing Ford Ranger Engines Running on Liquid Hydrogen
Boeing is currently testing a Ford Motor Co. turbo-charged 2.3 liter four-cylinder engines that has been modified to run on liquid hydrogen, two of which will eventually be fitted to the Phantom Eye.
