UK Royal Air Force to Acquire Certifiable Predator B
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI) announced at the Farnborough Air Show that the UK Ministry of Defence has selected the Certifiable Predator B (CPB) RPA system, with some specific modifications, to fulfil the country’s future armed Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) requirements.
German Advanced Radar Detection System Integrated onto Predator B
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI) and Raytheon Deutschland GmbH,have announced that they will integrate the Advanced Radar Detection System (ARDS) onto a GA-ASI Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper. A scalable Electronic Support Measure (ESM) system for passive radar monitoring, ARDS is designed and developed by Raytheon Deutschland on the basis of modules which are produced in Spain and in the UK. US Air Force Refutes ISIS’ Reaper Claim
The US Air Force believes that an electrical issue, not enemy fire, caused its MQ-9 Reaper to crash in northern Syria on Tuesday, a spokesman told Air Force Magazine by email. Following the crash, ISIS-affiliated fighters posted video of the wreckage and claimed they shot down the remotely piloted aircraft.
