UAV & Drone Detection Radar from Kelvin Hughes

The UK’s Kelvin Hughes is launching a drone detection and tracking system based on its SharpEye X-Band radar receiver technology. The new system, called SMS-D, provides continuously updated bearing, distance, altitude and velocity data. USAF Pays $15.6 Million for Anti-Drone Systems
The US Air Force awarded a $15.6 million contract to ELTA North America Inc., to deliver 21 “counter-unmanned aerial systems,” according to a Feb. 21 Pentagon announcement. The devices, which the announcement also calls “Man Portable Aerial Defense System kits,” will be produced in Israel and delivered to the continental US for training by the end of July. Gryphon Sensors to Build $10M Drone Detection System
Gryphon Sensors, an offshoot of SRC Inc., plans to develop a $10.1 million monitoring system that can detect drones and other small aircraft. The first phase of the project, which is slated for completion in April 2017, will cover the airspace between Gryphon’s North Syracuse headquarters and Griffiss International Airport in Rome, Oneida County. Dedrone Secures $15M for Series B Funding
Dedrone, a security company which developed the world’s first software to detect drones and protect high-value airspace from drone threats, announced that it has secured $15 million for its Series B funding round led by Felicis Ventures and by John Chambers, Executive Chairman of Cisco, who has personally invested in the company.
