Blue Bear Systems Research, a UK Small to Medium Enterprise in Bedford, has formed a seven-strong consortium to develop a next generation, all electric, propulsion module to enhance aircraft performance while reducing operating costs. In December 2020, H3 Dynamics and Thales jointly trialled a real-time autonomous drone flight monitoring system in an urban environment in Singapore. The trial combined H3 Dynamics’ DBX autonomous drone charging box and a drone electronically registered and identified using Thales’ Remote Identification tracker under the management and monitoring of the Thales UAS Airspace Management solution. NASA’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Campaign is working alongside the Federal Aviation Administration to integrate innovative operational use cases for Urban Air Mobility vehicles, or UAM for short, into the national airspace system, including air taxis and cargo delivery vehicles.
