FAA Grants Textron Special Airworthiness Certificate to Operate Aerosonde UAS in Civil Operations

Textron Systems Corporation announced that it has been issued a special airworthiness certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct civil unmanned aircraft operations at its Unmanned Systems Service and Support Center located in Blackstone, Virginia, adjacent to the Allen C. Volatus Aerospace to Expand Pipeline Corridor Surveillance in Eastern Canada

Volatus Aerospace Corp. has announced that its subsidiary, Canadian Air National Inc., has signed a 3-year master service agreement with a leading pipeline operator to provide pipeline right-of-way asset and environmental monitoring throughout Ontario. The agreement, signed on March 2nd, is estimated to generate revenues of up to $5M over the next three years with margins within historical norms for jobs of this nature. Continue reading

Boeing, Shield to Collaborate on Artificial Intelligence, Autonomy for Defense Programs

Boeing  and Shield AI have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore strategic collaboration in the areas of autonomous capabilities and artificial intelligence on current and future defense programs. US Air Force Drones Can Now Recognize Faces

The U.S. Air Force now has the capability to use facial recognition on drones that could target specific people. Special operations forces can use the drones to gather intelligence and to aid in other missions, according to a contract first spotted by New Scientist.
