Near Earth Autonomy Gets NASA Award for UAS Flight Safety

Near Earth Autonomy has announced the successful award through the NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program to support NASA’s mission to introduce unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) into the National Airspace (NAS). Under this award, Near Earth will develop and demonstrate technologies that enable safe unmanned aircraft (UA) operation in the case of unexpected contingency situations. U.T.SEC – Unmanned Technologies & Security Expo & Conference

The U.T.SEC, Unmanned Technologies & Security – Expo & Conference, which is to be held at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre on 2 – 3 March 2017, is the first trade fair devoted to every aspect of drones. The event will focus on the technical possibilities for increasing security through the deployment of unmanned systems in the civil, industrial and state sectors but also on protecting against their unwanted use. First Flight of Avenger Extended Range

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. has  announced the successful first flight of its new Avenger Extended Range (ER) aircraft, an extended range version of its multi-mission jet-powered Predator C Avenger which has accumulated over 13,000 flight hours to date. The flight occurred on October 27th at the company’s Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility in Palmdale, Calif. Continue reading
