Czech and Ukrainian Firms to Collaborate on New UAV and Develop a Jet Interceptor

The Czech company Pavetra Aerospace and Ukrainska Bavovna have signed an agreement to combine their technological and operational expertise to develop new defence systems.

The partners will work on developing the Shugai strike unmanned aerial vehicle. As part of the agreement, they will also develop a jet interceptor at a joint venture in the Czech Republic.

All legal procedures for establishing the partnership have been completed. The project has moved into the active research and development (R&D) phase. The first combat tests of the new platforms are scheduled for the near future.

In November 2025, the Shugai drone, designed to engage targets at ranges exceeding 50 km, had already passed its first tests.

The drone retains its modularity, adaptability to various munitions, and low production cost.
