KONGSBERG Gets $1.7BN C-UAS Solutions Contract from Poland

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and consortium partner Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa have signed a contract with the Polish Armaments Agency for the delivery of Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems to protect the country against the evolving threats from unmanned aerial platforms.

The NOK 16 billion (USD 1.68bn) SAN CUAS contract will see KONGSBERG deliver 18 counter-UAS batteries to Poland in partnership with PGZ.

Each battery combines multiple effectors—35 mm, 30 mm and 12.7 mm guns, missiles, interceptor drones and other counter-air tools—linked by APS’s tailored command-and-control system and integrated with Poland’s national air defence network.

The system is built on KONGSBERG’s PROTECTOR family, including the MCT30 turret and Remote Weapon Station. For SAN, the RWS will primarily employ 70 mm guided missiles, with flexible sensor and effector integration across platforms to enable distributed operations.

As part of the programme, KONGSBERG will expand manufacturing capacity in Poland. The company has delivered more than 20,000 PROTECTOR systems to over 30 countries.
