General Atomics Gets MQ-9 Contracts Worth $26M

General Atomics – Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, has been awarded two contracts for MQ-9 work. The first is a $17,143,626 contract (0039) on previously awarded basic ordering agreement FA8620-15-G-4040 for MQ-9 Block 5 Exportability acquisition.

Contractor will develop an MQ-9 Block 5 configuration for future foreign military sales customers. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by Jan. 31, 2019. This contract involves foreign military sales for France and Spain.

Fiscal 2016 special defense acquisition funds in the amount of $16,825,033 are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.

The second is a $9,249,631 modification (0044) to previously awarded contract FA8620-15-G-4040 for MQ-9 Reaper Electrical Safety Improvement Program (ESIP) follow-on effort.

Contractor will provide 46 ESIP retrofit kits, installations, initial spares, and consumable kits for the MQ-9 Reaper. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by Dec. 9, 2016.

Fiscal 2015 and 2016 aircraft procurement funds in the amount of $9,249,631 are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
