General Atomics Gets $54M US Air Force MQ-9 Upgrade Contract

General Atomics – Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, has been awarded a $53,825,727 cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price, undefinitized contract action for the MQ-9 Hybrid Release 1 integration.  Contractor will provide the integration and initial fielding of new capabilities into the MQ-9 Block 5 aircraft.

Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by March 17, 2019. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2015 and 2016 research, development, test and evaluation; and procurement funds in the amount of $16,989,914 are being obligated at the time of award.

Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8620-16-C-3003).
