Droneboarding – Snowboarder Towed by a Drone

droneboardingAerones, an unmanned aerial vehicle developer from Latvia has invented a new sport by towing snowboarder with a drone -enter the world of droneboarding.

The Aerones has the lifting force of 37 kilograms (81.5 pounds), and it can easily tow a kiteboarder, skateboarder, snowboarder, longboarder or any similar type of board sport activist.

“This is another possible use for a drone. Most likely it will gain popularity,” notes Ilmars Ozols, a member of the Latvian Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems.

“The company is currently looking for investors and partners to develop a special type of handlebar for this kind of sport. There has been a lot of interest from different extreme sports fans.”

The engineers behind Aerones want to develop heavy lifting multi-rotor drones for multiple purposes. Snow kiteboarding seemed a logical step, but the brand has also tested the equipment with large water bottles.

Aerones has been developing heavy lifting multi rotor aerial vehicles also known as drones. A special drone was designed that has the lifting force of 37kg.

A test was conducted in abandoned Rumbula airfield and results were very successful. There has been a lot of interests from different extreme sport fans as well. Company is currently looking for investors and partners to develop a special type of handlebar for this type of sport.
