Aermatica Flies Commercial UAS in Non-Segregated Airspace in Italy

ANTEOSAermatica‘s ANTEOS UAS has reached an new new milestone by obtaining  permission to fly in non-segregated airspace also in industrial environment from the local civil aviation authority (ENAC).

On August 2nd 2013,  an ANTEOS UAS flew over the ENEL industrial plant located in Livorno (Italy).

ENEL, (the main Italian electricity utility) a multinational group based in Italy, and a leading integrated player in the power and gas markets of Europe and Latin America, started a study for remote monitoring of its own power plants through small UAS. By using a small UAS equipped with different sensors like cameras, infrared sensors, gas detectors it is possible to reduce risks for operators, decrease inspection time, increment check effectiveness, enlarge operative conditions for checks and definitely have significant costs reduction for some important industrial plant maintenance tasks.

That is a very important goal since the ANTEOS UAS has been recognised as compliant to the severe ENAC regulations.

This last milestone follows Aermatica earlier step on the path to professional air services taken on April 4th 2013 when an ANTEOS flew in an urban environment in L’AQUILA (Italy). Therefore the ANTEOS  can now be used in both urban and industrialised environments for specialised aerial work.
