Composite Horizons to Supply Exhaust Ducts for Predator C Avenger

Composites Horizons, a provider of composite tooling and composite products for space components, aircraft manufacturing and medical equipment, has announced that General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) has selected the company for producing an exhaust duct for the Predator C Avenger .

CHI is a part of Hampson Aerospace, a manufacturer of tooling and assembly systems, aero structures, and metallic and composite components. The company worked with engineers from GA-ASI to develop the exhaust duct with high durability and good performance. CHI was also able to meet the requirements of GA-ASI and its aggressive schedule for development of the product.

CHI’s President, Jeff Hynes, announced that the company had an unmatched capability for production of carbon composite products cost-effectively. He added that the company’s capability had led to GA-ASI entrusting more projects related to the Predator C Avenger UAS.

Hampson Aerospace’s composite structures and components are currently being used in many aerospace programs including the Predator C Avenger UAS, A350, F-18, B787, C-17 and the JSF. The company supplies composite manufacturing capabilities to Pratt & Whitney, GE Aviation, Honeywell and General Atomics.
