Sentient Blue Wins $1M GENIUS NY Prize

The winner of the $1 million grand prize from Round Three of the GENIUS NY accelerator is Sentient Blue, a team from Italy. The GENIUS NY program is the world’s largest business accelerator competitions focused on unmanned systems. EagleHawk One, CivDrone, Vermeer and ResilienX each were awarded investments of $500,000.  ResilienX was also named the crowd favorite in a live poll taken during the event.

At SOFINS 2019, Ukraine’s Ukrspec presented its UAV solution. The PD-1 unmanned aerial system is specially designed for ISTAR operations. A PD-1 system consists of two PD-1 unmanned aerial vehicles with 50cc gas engine, planar high resolution 35 MP or 50 MP digital camera, rugged case ground control station, communication link, video transmission link, video transmission link, antennas, spare parts and accessories. IARPA Announces the UG2+ Prize Challenge to Improve UAV-Captured Imagery

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, today announced the UG2+ Prize Challenge, a competition that leverages a unique computer vision dataset of unmanned aerial vehicle, glider, and ground (UG2) data. This second edition of the challenge aims to advance the analysis of images collected by small UAVs by improving image restoration and algorithm performance. Continue reading
