A wide range of presenters came from the big manufacturers, small companies, service providers and research institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Israel, Norway, Spain Sweden and Latvia – a truly international and representative selection.

UAS 2O11 Conference – Highlights of Day 2
Yesterday saw the biggest turnout so far, with a sprinkling of uniforms adding colour and authenticity to the proceedings. The parallel sessions ad richness & variety but mean that inevitably a choice has to be made, which in my case meant focussing on Operational Experience (Military & Non-Military) and UAS Updates.

Yamaha’s RMax unmanned helicopter was on display at the CRT Farmfest in Queensland, Australia, fitted with crop-spraying equipment for precision agriculture (PA).
Cassidian Talarion on Display at Paris Air Show
On the static display at the 49th International Paris Air Show, Cassidian will present combat proven UAS with the DRAC presented by the French Army which operates it in Afghanistan, videos presenting HARFANG last accomplishments and the future MALE TALARION with a scale 1 mock-up.
UAS 2011 Conference – “A Historic Moment”
The first session of the conference was dedicated to International Regulatory Activities, with presentations from ICAO, JARUS, Eurocontrol, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Civil Aviation Authority, UK, and Federal Aviation Administration USA. To the surprise of some and to the delight of many, they all sounded as if they were either saying the same thing in slightly different words, or at very least had been carefully orchestrated to dovetail into on another.
13th Annual UAS Conference Opens Tomorrow in Paris
The 13th annual UAS Conference gets underway tomorrow in Paris at 2pm. First item on the agenda is a presentation of UVS International and its Board of Directors, an explanation of the Global Access Initiative, the activities deployed over the last 12 months, the objectives of the UAS 2011 conference and the association’s activities in the coming year.

The 9th Annual Edition of the International Unmanned Aircraft Systems Yearbook is currently at the printers and the first copies, hot off the presses, will be delivered to the UAS Conference 2011 in Paris next week. Delegates will be the first to get hard copies of what is without doubt the most respected publication on UAS in the world.
