Space Needle security called police just before 8:30 PM after several guests reported seeing a small drone buzz the top of the Needle, and possibly crash into an observation Deck window. New Russian UAS for Background Radiation Monitoring
UAV systems, LLC. has developed background radiation monitoring system for Russian meteorology and ecological monitoring corporation Rosgidromet. The base of the system is serially produced scintillational wide-range intellectual x-ray and gamma emission detection module and UAV Supercam S-350 by UAV systems, LLC. Both devices were modified during development.
F/A-18 Demo at Farnborough Airshow 2014
The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine supersonic, all-weather carrier-capable multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (F/A designation for Fighter/Attack). Designed by McDonnell Douglas and Northrop, the F/A-18 was derived from the latter’s YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations. The U.S. Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, has used the Hornet since 1986. Continue reading
Eurofighter Typhoon at Farnborough 2014
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard-delta wing, multirole fighter.The Typhoon was designed and is manufactured by a consortium of three companies; BAE Systems, Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi, who conduct the majority of affairs dealing with the project through a joint holding company, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, which was formed in 1986. New Zealand Hires DJI Phantom to Take ‘Dronies’ on Ski Slopes

New Zealand’s tourism authority is now planning to cash in on the trend, buying a $1400 DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ drone to tour the country’s ski slopes, as well as Queenstown and Lake Tekapo, to capture tourist dronies.

UAS to Inspect Levees in Louisiana
South Lafourche’s levees will be viewed through an unconventional eye in the coming months. Levee District Director Windell Curole said the district is in the early stages of working on an agreement to have its levees inspected by unmanned aircraft equipped with a camera operated by a local company.
CybAero Announces New Engine Supplier
