Panic Button App Sends Drones to the Rescue
The LifeLine Response app can call the police and dispatch a drone at 60mph to record the scene is a person is in distress. To use the system, users fire up the app and tell controllers they are concerned. If they take their thumb off the button, a drone is sent and the police are called, using the location of the phone. Ohio College Building Indoor Drone Pavilion
Sinclair Community College will build an indoor flying pavilion for students to test and fly drones. The 40-foot high pavilion resembling a traditional aircraft hangar will be built adjacent to a building in Dayton that houses some of its education and training programs in unmanned aerial systems and aviation. TGI Fridays launched the drone after research revealed that 47 per cent of Britons have never enjoyed a kiss under the mistletoe. Parrot Bebop Lands in December for $499
Following its announcement of the Bebop drone back in May, Parrot today has said the copter will be available in December starting at $499 at Best Buy and Apple stores and online. Availability for the UK and Australia won’t be until the beginning of 2015 and pricing not announced, but the US price converts to around £320 and AU$570, although expect final prices to vary.
