FAA Makes Major Drone ID Marking Change

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has posted a rule in the Federal Register requiring small drone owners to display the FAA-issued registration number on an outside surface of the aircraft. Owners and operators may no longer place or write registration numbers in an interior compartment. The rule is effective on February 23. The markings must be in place for any flight after that date. Terra Drone Optimizes Long-Distance Power Line Inspection

Terra Drone conducted a long-distance power line inspection for EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) and a power energy distributor in Poland and completed 12 km power line mapping in a day. The purpose of the mission was to research the distance between power lines and the surrounding vegetation and to create tree-trimming report. As a result, the company  provided them with high-quality images of power line with about 1 cm GSD and a detailed tree-trimming report.
