Phoenix Air Unmanned Issues RFI for VTOL UAS

Phoenix Air Unmanned, LLC (PAU) is seeking information on the availability of Unmanned Aircraft Systems to support linear infrastructure inspections. The UAS will be operated by PAU who has been contracted by Xcel Energy as their unmanned flight service provider and they plan to purchase a minimum of 4 aircraft initially with the possibility of additional aircraft in the future. NASA’s Urban Air Mobility Grand Challenge Advances

NASA has signed Space Act Agreements with 17 companies in the aviation industry to advance plans for the first in a series of technology demonstrations known as the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Grand Challenge. Evolution of UAVs Employed by Houthi Forces in Yemen

In July 2019, Houthi forces unveiled a collection of UAVs, which they claimed to have manufactured domestically. Eight types of Houthi-manufactured UAV have been identified in media reporting: Hudhed-1, Raqib, Rased and Sammad-1 (Reconnaissance UAVs – although the Sammad-1 can be weaponised), and Qasef-1, Qasef-2K, Sammad-2 and Sammad-3 (Combat UAVs).
