Japan’s Terra Drone Invests in Ukraine’s Amazing Drones and Launches ‘Terra A1’ – a $3K Interceptor

Terra Drone Corporation, a Japan-based drone and Urban Air Mobility technology company, has announced a capital and business alliance with Ukraine’s Amazing Drones LLC, a developer and manufacturer of interceptor drones.

The agreement includes a strategic investment made through Terra Drone’s subsidiary, Terra Inspectioneering. Through this partnership, Terra Drone aims to strengthen its presence in Ukraine while accelerating global expansion in the defence sector.

As part of the collaboration, the companies will jointly launch a new interceptor drone, the “Terra A1.” In addition to expanding local operations, Terra Drone plans to leverage the technical expertise developed in Ukraine—particularly under real combat conditions—to advance practical applications and scale its international business.

The announcement comes amid a rapidly evolving global security landscape. Conflicts such as the war in Ukraine have demonstrated the growing importance of low-cost, mass-deployable drones, which are reshaping traditional military strategies. Increasingly, inexpensive drones are being used to neutralize high-value weapons, fundamentally altering defence economics. This shift has led to a new guiding principle: countering low-cost threats with equally cost-effective solutions.

Recognizing this transformation, Terra Drone formally entered the defence equipment market in March 2026. The company aims to contribute to building a sustainable, next-generation defence framework by applying its global experience in drone technologies and operations.

Amazing Drones, the recipient of the investment, specializes in interceptor drones designed for rapid deployment in challenging environments where electronic warfare and signal jamming are common. Its technologies and operational expertise, developed through real-world combat scenarios, are key assets that Terra Drone intends to integrate into its own capabilities. The partnership is expected to accelerate the development of effective defence solutions.

The newly introduced Terra A1 drone represents a cost-efficient alternative to traditional interceptor missiles. Designed for speed and scalability, it can reach a maximum speed of 300 km/h and operate within a range of 32 kilometers—surpassing the typical performance of many threat drones. Powered by electric propulsion, it offers low noise and minimal heat signature, enhancing stealth. With a flight time of approximately 15 minutes, the Terra A1 can perform the full cycle of surveillance, target detection, and interception in a single mission.

Looking ahead, Terra Drone plans to expand its portfolio of unmanned systems, including interceptor drones, FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, and unmanned surface vessels. By leveraging its mass-production expertise and global network, the company aims to meet rising international demand for advanced defense technologies. Collaborations with partners across Japan, Europe, and the United States will further support this effort.

Terra Drone views the defence sector as a driver of both technological innovation and economic growth. By combining drone and AI technologies, the company seeks to build a new form of social infrastructure that enhances national security, strengthens industrial competitiveness, and enables civilian applications through technology transfer.

Company leaders emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership. Terra Drone CEO Toru Tokushige highlighted the urgency of developing effective countermeasures against modern aerial threats, while Amazing Drones CEO Maksym Klymenko described the collaboration as a critical step toward scaling production and bringing battlefield-proven innovations to a global market.

Through this alliance, Terra Drone aims to deliver reliable, combat-tested solutions while contributing to global stability and security.
