Volodymyr Zelenskyy has received the first Ukrainian drone manufactured in Germany by Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI). Boris Pistorius acted as patron for the handover of the first Linza 3.0 multi-purpose drone to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Matthias Lehna, Managing Director of QFI, and Mykyta Rozhkov, Chief Business Development Officer of Frontline Robotics, welcomed the President and Defence Minister ahead of the official opening of the Munich Security Conference to mark the start of production at the joint venture’s new facility.
The QFI site is designed to enable large-scale production of up to 10,000 drones for Ukraine within a year. Early-stage production is already underway following the venture’s announcement in December 2025. QFI plans to automate output to meet Ukrainian demand and scale further to bring Ukrainian-developed technology to European partners.
Linza 3.0, the first Ukrainian drone now produced in Germany, was recently presented by Frontline Robotics. The latest generation of its multi-purpose platform, it is already deployed in more than 60 units across the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The drone features an AI-enabled visual-inertial navigation module, a 12-inch frame, and can carry payloads of up to 4 kg over distances of up to 15 km, with a flight endurance of up to 60 minutes.
The visit was facilitated by the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, representing private defence manufacturers.
President Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its support and praised the companies’ work. Minister Pistorius highlighted the project’s speed and the innovation derived from battlefield experience. Lehna and Rozhkov emphasized the rapid progress of the joint venture and its role in strengthening long-term Ukrainian-German industrial cooperation.
