Renault to Produce Long-Range Attack Drones

French car manufacturer Renault will start producing long-range attack drones in France under a military project called “Chorus.” Production will take place at Le Mans (drone assembly) and Cléon (engines), under oversight of France’s DGA and with defence firm Turgis Gaillard.

Capacity could reach up to 6,00 drones per month, scaling only if ordered. If tests succeed, the project could become a €1 billion, 10-year defense contract, marking Renault’s major entry into military drone production.

“At the request of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, Renault Group has been invited to contribute its expertise to the development of a French drone industry,”

a Renault spokesperson said in an email sent on Monday evening.
