Dassault Aviation Partners with Harmattan AI in $200M Series B

Dassault Aviation and Harmattan AI has announced a strategic partnership aimed at fast-tracking the use of controlled autonomy and AI in combat aviation. As part of the deal, Dassault Aviation is leading Harmattan AI’s US$200 million Series B funding round.

Harmattan AI already works closely with the French and UK Ministries of Defence, having secured multiple Programs of Record for its autonomous systems. With demand for these capabilities growing globally, the new funding will help the company scale faster. The investment will support the rollout of AI-enabled missions in new operational environments, expand Harmattan AI’s product range into additional domains, and ramp up manufacturing of its ISR, drone interception and electronic warfare platforms.

Dassault Aviation CEO and Chairman Éric Trappier said the partnership reflects the company’s long-standing focus on technological excellence and sovereignty. By teaming up with a fast-moving AI specialist, Dassault aims to accelerate the integration of high-value autonomy into the next generation of combat air systems and ensure its aircraft deliver the capabilities armed forces will need in the future.

Under the partnership, Harmattan AI’s embedded AI technologies will be integrated into Dassault Aviation’s future air combat platforms, including Rafale F5 and its unmanned combat air systems. A key focus will be the control and coordination of unmanned aerial systems, aligned with Dassault’s broader strategy of deploying sovereign, controlled and closely monitored AI in its combat aircraft.

Harmattan AI CEO and co-founder Mouad M’Ghari said the partnership is a major step toward a new generation of autonomous defence systems. He added that Dassault’s backing accelerates Harmattan AI’s mission to deliver scalable, sovereign AI capabilities to allied forces.

Dassault Aviation will contribute its deep experience in designing and integrating complex military platforms, operating in high-intensity environments, and supporting international growth through its global network.
