High maneuverability, precise and smooth piloting at different speeds, high tactical and technical characteristics – the Ministry of Defence has codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine the effective Ukrainian UAV “Cyclops”. It is designed to destroy enemy air and ground targets.
The Cyclops UAV was developed at a Ukrainian enterprise that has experience in manufacturing military equipment specifically for performing tasks in modern high-intensity warfare.
Various modifications of the Cyclops have been operating at the front for several years.
Advantages of the Cyclops UAV
The Cyclops UAV has several modifications designed to perform various military missions:
- some are cheaper, structurally simpler and easier to operate, designed to hit ground targets or air targets that move slowly and at low altitudes;
- others have significantly higher tactical and technical characteristics, designed to effectively defeat high-speed “shaheeds” at a considerable height.
The Cyclops UAV has a wingspan of just over 1 m, can stay in the air for almost 1.5 hours, and can fly higher than the maximum operating altitude of Russian strike or reconnaissance aerial drones.
The range of the complex is sufficient to cover any regional center of Ukraine from unmanned aerial attack vehicles.
The compact size and high speed of the Cyclops UAV significantly reduce the risk of being hit by enemy weapons.
Which Russian UAVs are Shot Down by the Cyclops Interceptor?
The Cyclops V2 UAV has already destroyed over a hundred aerial targets.
Among them:
- “Gerbera”
- Zala
- “Sea eagle”
- Supercam
- “Lancet”
- “Lightning”
The first Russian “Shaheed” over the territory of the Russian Kursk region was hit by the “Cyclops”.
