Australia Releases Timeline for Advanced Aerial Mobility Progress

CASA, the Civil Air Safety board of Australia, recently disclosed its timeline for the advancement of aerial mobility.. The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Strategic Regulatory Roadmap outlines its approach for RPAS and AAM regulations over the next 10 to 15 years.

It sets out a long-term plan for safely integrating these technologies into Australia’s airspace and future regulatory system, alongside traditional aviation.

“We brought in RPAS legislation ahead of many other countries and we continued to sharpen our focus on emerging technology over the years. We are committed to advancing these pioneering technologies and see this roadmap as a priority as we frame the future of Australian aviation”,

said Pip Spence, CEO of CASA.

CASA will continue to evolve the roadmap to keep pace with new technologies and innovations to support the future of this rapidly growing industry.
