Colorado Drone Mystery: US Air Force Denies Involvement

The US Air Force issued a “not us” denial, a week after The Gazette questioned whether a Wyoming base was behind the mysterious sightings of drone swarms over northeastern Colorado in recent weeks.

F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, which controls a string of missile silos in an area where drones have been spotted, has a counter-drone program, but said it is not operating in the area where unexplained flights are being investigated.

“It is not F.E. Warren Air Force Base, nor is it any other Air Force entity,” said a base spokesman, 2nd Lt. Jon Carkhuff.

  1. The image in this story is an airplane, plane and simple. (sorry for the pun). Aircraft is going right to left, you have a left wingtip Nav Light (red) Landing Light, either wing or nacelle mounted, (white) Another Landing Light, (white) and you can just BARELY Make out the right wingtip light (green), on the other wing. You have the Red rotating or flashing Beacon, on the tail as well as a white nav light below it.

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying drones are not flying around, but this is not one of them.
People say they only fly at night, is probably wrong, They are easier to see at night, and during the day time you can clearly see it is an airplane, and can barely if at all see the nav lights, the pilot might not be using landing lights, but you should be able to see the strobes, if they are using them.

Many times pilots in low visibility will turn off the strobes to reduce the chance of disorientation on approach to land or takeoff.
