Northrop Grumman has observed an increasing demand for its Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) system as ground forces seek options to defend themselves against the threat posed by small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
The company has received recent contracts, totalling more than USD 300,000 for the JCREW system, some of which will be diverted by the US Navy (USN) for counter-UAS (C-UAS) missions, Colin Phan, director, avionics and tactical networks for Northrop Grumman told Jane’s .
Northrop Grumman had been delivering JCREW units under a previous Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract for dismounted and mounted fixed sites.
