Canada Publishes Draft Regulations for UAS Operations

Eleven years of joint effort by Unmanned Systems Canada and Tranport Canada has reached the milestone announcement in Canada Gazette One of the proposed regulations for small UAS operating in Visual Line of Sight.

Unmanned Systems Canada will be seeking industry input to provide Transport Canada with a collated response during the period open for public comment. In addition, Transport Canada will be undertaking a cross-country series of information sessions with details to follow shortly.

This is a milestone event in the journey of the evolution and growth of our industry. USC wishes to thank the numerous members of the association and our colleagues at Transport Canada who have provided countless hours of their time to help shape these regulations and enable the dramatic growth that our industry is enjoying.

“We encourage industry and other stakeholders to review the proposed regulations and submit comments, either individually or, to Unmanned Systems Canada as part of a collective response. We will continue to provide the industry with resources and representation at this critical time.”
