RPAS 2017 – Find Out Where The European UAS/RPAS/Drone Community Is Going

RPAS 2017, the European Civil RPAS Policy, Regulatory & Innovation Forum, is an international conference focusing on remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) operational matters, current & future applications, policy & regulatory matters, current bottlenecks & innovative possible solutions, technical & performance requirements, system & sub-system developments, aerial work customer requirements, novel operations, as well as experience & lessons learned.

RPAS 2017 is taking place within the context of: ICAO’s current & envisaged RPAS-related work; ICAO’s upcoming 2nd Global RPAS Symposium & its follow-on Drone Enable conference; the Riga & Warsaw Declarations; the RPAS content in the European Commission’s “Aviation Strategy”; EASA’s “Technical Opinion” & “Prototype Rules”; the U-Space Blueprint produced by SESAR Joint Undertaking with the support of the U-Space Working Group; the constitution of the EC’s Informal Export Group on Drones; EASA’s Notice of Proposed Amendment 2017-05 (A & B) on the “open” and “specific” categories; JARUS’ ongoing activities; EUROCONTROL’s RPAS ATM CONOPS; EUROCONTROL’s recent RPAS ATM Integration Workshop; GUTMA’s UAS Traffic Management Architecture document; the DroneRules Project; and the growing number of national Civil Drone Councils.

At RPAS 2017, a specific focus will be put on regulation, U-Space (UTM) and the advantages of civil drone councils.
The objective of this conference is to:
– Broaden the awareness and understanding of the RPAS community & its future customers;
– Continue the community’s constructive discussions with European Union policymakers & regulators.

In reference to EASA’s NPA 2017-05 (A & B), RPAS 2017 (see Reference Documents) will highlight the urgency for the RPAS community to define standard operational scenarios.

The 19th annual edition of RPAS 2017 will take place:
– at the Royal Military Academy
– in Brussels, Belgium
– on 13 & 14 June 2017
