UK Royal Parks Impose No-Fly Zone

Drone pilots who fly in the Royal Parks will have to leave their flying gadgets at home under new legislation.

Notices put up in all eight of the parks, including Richmond Park and Bushy Park, state the flying of drones and model aircrafts is prohibited, under order by the Secretary of State.

Despite the blanket ban on the drones, the flying gadgets are allowed in the designated flying field near Sheen Cross.

A Royal Parks spokeswoman said: “We recognise their growing popularity, but they can have a very negative impact on the wildlife in the parks and also interfere with the safety and comfort of park visitors.”

  1. And how will this be policed? It’s almost impossible to stop idiots using drones in spaces like this.
